MediaTracks just completed a Custom Feed Audio News Release (ANR) for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), which targeted 250 stations in the top markets in the country. According to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in five Americans reported visiting the emergency room in the last year. But how do you know if going to the ER is necessary?
Dr. Andy Sama, the president of ACEP, says that patients should let the doctors do the diagnosis and always play it safe. According to Sama, "Most ER patients have the symptoms of a medical emergency, but we won't know how serious they are until after we've completed a medical exam." Without the proper medical examinations, physicians won't know who needs to be admitted or who can go home. For more information about the study, visit www.acep.org.
